HFW Companies is Hiring a Project Accountant Near Texas, TX

Position Summary:

The Project Accountant will work closely with, and under the supervision of, the Manager, Project Accounting, and HFW's Member Firms on projects as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical support to the Manager/Project Accounting; apply best practices combined with effective emerging methodologies,
  • Assist HFW Member Firms with AR/AP functions,
  • Work directly with Member Firm Project Managers and finance teams during monthly invoicing cycles,
  • Process AP vendor invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures,
  • Generate weekly reports detailing accounts payables status,
  • Assist with in-depth project analysis and prepare periodic reports to provide guidance to Project Managers/Directors and assist them in making informed financial decisions,
  • Assist with analyzing unbilled costs, WIP, A/R, and billings in-excess of earnings to help drive improvements on project cashflows, working capital, and bottom-line margin,
  • May engage in internal/external audits,
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting, finance, or equivalent preferred; two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Travel:

Job-holder is expected to travel for on-site Member Firm assistance and Member Firm finance team touch-base meetings; travel to other Member Firms is also a possibility.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
